Two people claimed the Mega Millions Jackpot of $1.34B they had promised to split the prize

Officials from the lottery announced Wednesday that two anonymous winners of the $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot have been identified. They were able to claim their prize after one ticket was sold in a Chicago suburb.

According to the Illinois Lottery, the prize was claimed in two cases. They had previously agreed to share the prize if they were winners.

The winners would prefer to remain anonymous and the Illinois Lottery stated that it could not share any information except to say that the Mega Millions winners must be completely “over the moon”.

It was the third-largest lottery prize in the country. Because no one had ever matched six of the selected numbers since April 15, the jackpot grew in size. This is 29 consecutive draws that have not produced a jackpot winner.
