The oceanfront S3 restaurant in Fort Lauderdale has debuted several new shareable plates, sushi features, and cocktails on the brunch, lunch, and dinner menus. The Asian Coastal cuisine combines the freshest seafood from the Toyosu Fish Market with a delightful range of steaks and main courses. Seaside diners can find Chef Ped Phommavong, S3’s Corporate Sushi Chef, behind the sushi bar, skillfully serving delicious sushi.

Along with sushi, S3 offers an upscale yet casual-chic ambiance in a trendy and relaxed setting, making it the perfect spot for oceanfront dining and happy hours. This vibe is reflected in their newly crafted menus, which feature substantial, shareable plates ideal for social gatherings.
Chef Ped possesses a remarkable skill for crafting innovative sushi dishes and is dedicated to showcasing the freshest and most authentic ingredients and flavors in each creation. Drawing inspiration from his personal culinary journey, which began with his family’s traditional Thai recipes, he honed his sushi-making expertise through an apprenticeship and mastery of the art in Thailand. His imaginative approach to sushi and his ability to craft genuinely immersive flavor profiles in every dish garnered him recognition. Chef Phommavong achieved eight impressive victories at Iron Chef Thailand and is excited to infuse the sushi menu at S3 with the same on-air energy and creativity.
“I am most passionate about creating exquisite, high-quality sushi dishes and constantly innovating in my culinary techniques. I take great pride in meticulously selecting the freshest ingredients to craft visually stunning and flavorful creations,” Phommavong says. “Moreover, I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of traditional sushi by experimenting with new flavors, presentations, and fusion elements, ensuring that my culinary repertoire continuously evolves and delights those who experience it.”
At the hands of the masterful sushi chef, guests can experience new menu additions, including the Omakase Boxes. These offerings feature the Sashimi Box ($60) with 14 pieces and seven varieties, the Nigiri Box ($60) with ten pieces and ten varieties, and the Supreme Box ($95) with six pieces of sashimi, eight pieces of Nigiri, and six pieces of a roll. Additionally, there is a Poke Plate available with Furikake sushi rice, seaweed and edamame salad, tempura Nori, Benishoga ginger, truffle Yuzu Ponzu, avocado purée, and scallions, with options such as Salmon ($22), Tuna ($24), or Hamachi ($28). Lastly, the new S3 Signature Roll, the A5 “Surf & Turf” Roll ($34), is now available, featuring king crab, A5 Wagyu, avocado and garlic crunch rayu.
The new starter menu features the Kale & Spinach Salad ($17) with fennel, crispy quinoa, candied walnuts, and mango Thai-curry vinaigrette, as well as the Local Burrata ($19) with Heirloom Tomato, prosciutto Gastrique, Angry Garlic Salsa, and red pepper pesto on grilled ciabatta. Additionally, fan favorites such as the recently added Korean Fried Chicken Bites ($14) with gochujang glaze and cilantro yuzu aioli and the classic Wok Charred Edamame ($10) with soy, togarashi and sesame are still available.
Additional items being introduced at S3 in Fort Lauderdale include the Ora King Salmon Cones, priced at $19 and served with avocado mousse, spicy mayo, and chives, as well as the Fried Rice “Stone Bowl” at $16, featuring shiitake, snap peas, sushi rice, and egg.
