Based on the talent of this year’s rookie quarterback draft class, it’s no grand surprise to learn two of the top 10 quarterbacks in Fantasy football 2024 are rookies. Jayden Daniels is QB6, but the other may catch some off guard, as Bo Nix is QB7. The Broncos (6-5) being in the playoff hunt is also one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 NFL season and Nix’s productive rookie season has kept Courtland Sutton as a popular option for daily Fantasy football players in NFL DFS lineups. Nix has helped under-the-radar options return value for NFL DFS picks in Denver like receivers Devaughn Vele, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Marvin Mims Jr. On Sunday, the Broncos will play the Raiders, who have the fourth-worst scoring defense (28.5 points per game), so how should Denver options factor into your NFL DFS strategy? Top NFL Week 12 DFS picks for Sunday
One of the Optimizer’s top DFS value picks for Sunday is Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith ($5,700 on DraftKings and $7,400 on FanDuel). Smith is fourth in the NFL in passing yards (2,781) and Seattle throws on 64.5% of snaps, the fourth-most in the league. He’s completing 67% of his passes, the seventh-most in the NFL, so he’s not only effective because of volume, but Smith is productive with his opportunities. He’s averaging 278.1 passing yards per game, which leads the NFL and is the best of his 11-year career.
The 34-year-old is playing a familiar opponent in the Arizona Cardinals and one he’s often found success against. Smith is averaging 227.7 passing yards over his last three starts against Arizona with two passing touchdowns in each contest. Smith had a game-winning 13-yard touchdown run last week with 12 seconds left as the Seahawks upset the 49ers and although Smith is far from a running quarterback, he’s averaging 22.2 rushing yards per game, his most since 2015 with the Jets, and those additional points help his NFL DFS value as well. See who else to pick here.
The Optimizer’s NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Cardinals running back James Conner ($6,500 on DraftKings and $7,700 on FanDuel). The veteran has been one of the most dependable at his position all season, with at least 100 scrimmage yards or a touchdown in eight of 10 games. He’ll bring that consistency into a matchup with the Seahawks, who Conner had a career game against the last time he saw them. In his last contest versus Seattle in 2023, he had a career-high of 150 rushing yards to go along with 54 receiving yards and a trip to the endzone.
Last year’s Seahawks defense allowed 4.6 yards per carry, and this year’s is even worse, giving up 4.8 yards per rush. Seattle is allowing 120.3 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs, which is third-most in the NFL. Each of the last six starting running backs that Seattle has faced has totaled at least 95 scrimmage yards, with three of them having at least 120 yards. For Conner to not be among the top eight most expensive RBs on either FanDuel or DraftKings makes him a steal at his price point and a must-start as a Week 12 NFL DFS pick.
